This Privacy Policy explains how ProtoHyped (“ProtoHyped”, “we”, “us”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use our website and services (the “Service”). ProtoHyped helps people validate product ideas by publishing realistic landing pages and measuring how visitors respond.
Who we are

Information we collect
- Account information. When you sign up, our authentication provider (Clerk) processes your name, email address, and login credentials on our behalf.
- Landing-page analytics. On the landing pages we publish, and only where you have consented, we record behavioral events: page views, scroll depth, time on page, and call-to-action clicks. To do this we store a random, anonymous identifier (“fd_sid”) in your browser’s local storage. We also derive your approximate country from your IP address, your device type and browser (user-agent), and the referring URL.
- Waitlist and CTA submissions. If you submit your email address to register interest on a landing page, we store that email address together with the page it relates to.
- Technical and security data. We use Arcjet to detect bots and abuse, which processes request metadata such as IP address and headers to protect the Service.
Cookies and local storage
- Strictly necessary. Clerk sets cookies required to keep you securely signed in. These are essential and are not subject to consent.
- Analytics. The “fd_sid” identifier described above is only created and stored after you accept analytics in our cookie banner. If you decline, no analytics identifier is created and no behavioral events are recorded.
- Preferences. We store your cookie choice (“fd_consent”) in your browser so we don’t ask you again. You can change it any time via “Cookie preferences” in the footer.
How we use information
- To provide, operate, and secure the Service.
- To authenticate you and manage your account.
- To measure how visitors engage with landing pages and produce the aggregated metrics and leaderboards that are the core of the Service.
- To respond to waitlist and call-to-action submissions you send us.
- To detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, and security issues.
Legal bases (EEA/UK)
Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, we rely on: your consent for analytics; the performance of a contract to provide the Service and respond to your submissions; and our legitimate interests in securing the Service and preventing abuse. You may withdraw consent at any time without affecting prior processing.
How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers who process it on our behalf, including ProtoHyped’s authentication provider (Clerk), database and hosting providers (such as Neon and Vercel), and our security provider (Arcjet). We may also disclose information where required by law or to protect our rights.
Data retention
We keep account information for as long as your account is active, and analytics and waitlist data for as long as needed for the purposes described above, after which it is deleted or anonymized. Specific retention periods are available on request at privacy@protohyped.com.
International transfers
Our providers may process information in countries other than your own. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or port your personal information, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent. To exercise these rights, contact us at privacy@protohyped.com. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
Children
The Service is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, notify you.
